Celebrating the Silver Anniversary of the SBIR Program and 50 Years of NASA Space Exploration

About the Conference

For 25 years, the federal government has provided funding to small businesses engaged in innovative research through the SBIR Program. This year there is a $2.2 Billion appropriation set aside for the program. Eligible small businesses have an opportunity to compete for Phase I SBIR and STTR grants and contracts of up to $100,000 to undertake a feasibility analysis on their idea, and Phase II awards of up to $750,000 or more to undertake and validate their research.

The 2008 SBIR/STTR National Spring Conference in Orlando will bring together not only federal program administrators from all of the 11 SBIR participating agencies, but also venture capital and angel investors, secondary market and traditional lenders, university and federal laboratory representatives and other experts who provide assistance with the scale-up of early-stage ventures.  You will also hear presentations by SBIR Award winners who have successfully commercialized their research.

At the conference, you will learn from the best while networking with your peers involved innovation. Pre-conference activities begin on 24 May and sessions will convene on Tuesday 27 May 2008.
